Links to English Legal Sites
- Since 8th February, 1996,
Her Majesty's Stationery Office (HMSO)
started adding summaries and full texts of
UK Acts of Parliament to
their Internet site. With effect from the first Public General Act of 1996, all new
Public General Acts (and the Data Protection Act 1984) have been and are intended to be
published in full text form and with
effect from the first Local Act of 1997, all new Local Acts have been and are intended to
be published in full text form.
The aim is that all new Acts of Parliament should be published on the Internet within 10
working days of their publication in printed form, and all
Statutory Instruments
starting with the first printed one of 1997 will be published on the Web
site within 15 working days, in each case after publication in printed form.
- Jonathan Halsey's excellent
UK
Compliance Officers' Site includes a
regulators page linking to the
homepages of investment and securities regulators (some regulators provide the text of their
rulebooks online) and an
associations page
covering some of the various trade bodies that have an interest in the investment
industry.
Since he covers a number of areas of
interest to me in my professional specialities, I liked this site. He
includes links to a number of UK and other regulators including

was abandoned, I extracted some of the links more obviously relevant to
England or the UK below. I didn't select on the basis of any
judgment as to usefulness.
